Remove storage resources from storage containers

VMware vVols enables data replication, snapshots, and encryption to be controlled at the VMDK level instead of the LUN level, where these data services are performed on a per VM (application level) basis from the storage array.

To remove a storage resource from a storage container:

Steps

  1. Select the storage system.
  2. Select Storage > vVol Dashboard.
  3. Click Storage Containers to display the Storage Containers list view.
  4. Select the storage container and click An icon showing the letter i.
  5. Click the number next to Number of Storage Resources.
  6. Select the storage resource that you want to remove, click An icon showing three dots arranged in a vertical row, signifying a menu with more options, and click Remove.
  7. Click OK.
